The Heatcheck Mile is Austin's grassroots road mile — a heat-based, all-levels race built for anyone who wants to test themselves over the purest distance in running.
Year 1 brought out everyone from sub-5 racers to first-timers. The energy was electric. The competition was real. Year 2 is going to be bigger.

Race Format
Submit your seed time when you register. At bib pickup, you'll be assigned to a heat based on your seed so you're racing people your speed. Heats build from slowest to fastest — the energy gets bigger with every wave.

The Course
A fast, flat 3-turn loop through one of South Austin's best neighborhoods. Shaded stretches, smooth roads, and a finish line you can hear from 400 meters out.
Minimal elevation change. This course is built for speed.
Accurate chip timing for every runner in every heat.
Spectators line the finish. You'll hear them coming in.
